Mentor UPP: Undergraduate Peer Partnering
Mission Statement
- Provide Mentees an instant connection with trained UA College of Engineering Peer Mentors, who can offer a complete picture of campus life
- Give Peer Mentors leadership opportunities to serve the College of Engineering and its students as well as provide future leadership opportunities to current Mentees
- Make encouraging environments where Peer Mentors provide assistance and information and share experiences with their peer groups
- Offer information on a variety of activities, programs and events that touch on the full experience of campus life to Mentees and Mentors with little or no cost
- Foster community with students where they can share their unique academic and extra‐curricular interests
- Make UA and the College of Engineering personal by connecting campus and community resources and activities
Goals
- To cultivate relationships between upper- and underclassmen
- To increase underclassmen involvement, retention and confidence
- To provide a support system for College of Engineering students
- To present upperclassmen with leadership opportunities
- To offer underclassmen an opportunity to explore the resources and activities provided at UA and the College of Engineering
- To give Mentees an opportunity to give back to future students as future Peer Mentors
Mentor UPP: Undergraduate Professional Partnering
Mission Statement
The mission of Mentor UPP: Undergraduate Professional Partnering is to facilitate the professional development of College of Engineering upperclassmen by providing alumni engagement and support as well as networking opportunities.
Goals
- To cultivate relationships between College of Engineering upperclassmen and alumni
- To provide a support system for College of Engineering students as well as networking and professional development opportunities
- To help upperclassmen transition from an academic environment to the workforce
- To allow alumni to stay engaged with the College of Engineering and its students
- To facilitate alumni in identifying talent for their respective employer
- To impart alumni knowledge, experience and expertise to College of Engineering students
- To increase student retention, alumni involvement and Capstone Engineering Society awareness
- To provide an idea and information exchange between upperclassmen, alumni, and the College of Engineering
